I have an EF 68" Yak and a Yellow 74" Edge that I fly with a Saito 1.80. I love the performance of the Saito, but this engine is a huge fuel hog.
I would like to replace the Saito with a gas engine, but am not sure if these planes are big enough to take the weight addition. I really like this size range of 70" or so wing spans and want an engine that can preform 3D without breaking my wallet in fuel costs.
Would a Zenoah G26 be enough engine for 3D without adding to much weight? Are there any other gas engines out there that I should consider?
Thanks in advance.

Dean I am sorry I can't answer your question. I wonder though how long will you need to fly with the gasser to save the difference in price? I am not anti gas by any means. But you are going to spend $400 or so. Thats 25 gallons of glow fuel. Plus I don't think your going to like the way the plane flies with the extra pounds.
