It seems no matter how much money I have in the bank or savings, I always feel guilty after writing a $700.00 check for an airplane. I just bought the TF Staggerwing and Robart gear. I have saved for it waiting for the release and now I feel guilty for buying it! Am I the only one here? Please dont get me wrong, my children and wife are very well taken care of! I am just wondering if anyone else has these feelings and how do you handle them? Heck, it is not like I am buying a BVM G0-FLY kit, right? At least, not this month, hehe

Mike,
Didn't think you had to buy planes.
Lear,
The only time you need to feel guilt is if you were to buy more planes and add to the stack of "to be built" that you didn't have the intention or ability to build or fly.
I've got a different problem with no guilt that with 16 planes built ready to fly and not flying each at least once a month.

Forget the check-writing support group. I need a brainwasher cause I no longer have to even look at my credit card to enter the number in a checkout form. Makes online shopping waayyyyy too easy. In the past, I'd been stymied by having to get out of the chair and hunt down my wallet. Many an order didn't get placed because I didn't want to bother. Now I just bang out the number on the keypad in about 3 seconds. [:-]

Hey, at least we are not addicted to gambling! I feel your pain, ordering online is so stinking easy now a days. I was once into credit card debt and never again. Now, when I order I have to use my debit card so it hurts immediately.

Me too I live debt free now and have more money for airplane stuff then I ever had
the wife and I buckled down for 13 months and it all gone cars and all
just the house that gets extra money on it each month
if I buy a new plane or engine I just hand her the same amount in cash
she's says what did you buy this time I say does it matter ...lol
I'm not trying to say I'm better then anyone thrust me I paid HUGE stupid tax
now I don't even spend on the hobby what I was paying in interest
If you want to learn how to do it PM me best of all it's FREE nothing to buy or sell
it's just a plan to freedom that's free the rest is up to you
Happy landings

Skiman: It looks like another Dave Ramsey fan here! We are debt free besides the house as well. It is a beautiful thing. We pay extra on the house and hope to have it payed for within the nest 5 years. Stupid Tax was my middle name until reality struck and the Airline started laying off. We did the Debt free 13 week course and it has changed my whole life and my childrens future!

The difference between buying with cash and buying with credit is your not reminded about it ever month so the guilt doesn't last long
you have to go back to the hobby shop and get another fix
I never preach living debt free I always tell people about how it works for me and that if they want to try it and don't like it they can alway charge the cards back up
but I'll bet they never will

It's only money! Here's my philosophy: if you want something, and you have the money...buy it! If you dont have the money, don't buy it! (no debt!) Life really is short and uncertain...if you don't realize your dreams and desires now it will be very sad if you end up too old or too sick to enjoy it later. BTW, you will eventually, be too old or too sick to enjoy our hobby...you could also die tomorrow... have fun NOW and don't feel quilty about having it.
