Does anyone know of a website that has a .40 size YAK 52 in stock? I've looked everywhere and have come up empty handed. I want one to convert to electric. This is the one I had in mind. It comes from Raidentech.

acam37,
Why do a conversion. Hyperion offers a .40 size YAK54 that is designed for electric. I have flown it and it flys great. Here is a link on where to buy it: http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=2186
Scott Stoops has done a full rview here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...t=502157&pp=15
You'll love this plane... STEVE

$200 plus shipping is a little more than I want to pay for an ARF. I did find the one from Extreme Flight, which is $169.95+shipping, but what I really have in mind is one around the $100 range. It may be asking for too much, but I thought I would try to find one anyway.

acam37,
Yes you may be asking for too much. $100 for a .40 size plane of good quality. I love ExtremeFlight planes and regularly fly their Extra. I hear the new YAK is off the charts good. However, you asked for a .40 size, and EF's new YAK is quite a bit smaller than that. When you get to a true .40 size, the extra $100 for the airframe is the small cost. You need bigger everything, sevos, motor, ESC, and more expensive batteries. Hyperion engineers a complete package with power system, so you know you will have a great flying plane after all is said and done. With EF and Hyperion you get great support as well.
That said here is a link to a .40 size YAK of unknown quality for less than $100 and they are in stock.

And another: http://www.hobby-estore.com/w03-yak-...-airplane.html
Hope you find what you are looking for, let us know....

Thanks for the links. Here is what I am doing. My friend is big into electrics and he is experimenting with big brushless motors and batteries. We are on a budget and I told him I would buy the airframe to put his stuff in. The motor is big enough for a good .40 to .50 size plane, so I was looking for one with a 50+ inch wing to see how it will fly it. With LI-Poly's dropping in price the bigger planes become more affordable to us poor folks.
I was looking at the YAK because I've never owned one and it seems to be the current popular plane.

I have a 68" Extreme Flight Yak that I am close to retiring because I am going to gassers and it is to small for the engine I chose. I have flown it for a full season and it shows a little wear, but it has never been crashed and flies great.
I live in Ohio and would take 160-170 for it. However, I really don't want to ship it to avoid damage. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi, we (NitroPlanes.com) are the only seller of the Yak you're looking for and i'm sorry it went out of stock so fast...The demand for that Yak 3D was so huge that it was just sold out before anyone of us realized it...However, it's already in productions now and I think it will be in around December...We have a support forum with all the latest news and updates you can check [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4895466/tm.htm]here[/link]...that way, you don't really have to waste effort searching and asking questions

Ya, we've had some bad press from a few people here on RCU so that's why we have [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_456/p_/tmode_1/smode_1/tt.htm]this support forum now[/link].... And for those who read about Bob P's P38 case, I think we are cool now...However, we never provided fake tracking# nor false shipment...sometimes it all depends on some luck with a few customers...with Mr. Paris's case, it's like having a bad day at poker...just no luck...we did ship him the replacement part with tracking# 420967619101805213907249488610 at no cost with USPS....shows delivered, but he claimed he never received it....i can tell he's a honest guy so we don't blame him for getting all hot over something that he still thinks we never shipped...so we'll just take his case as a good learning experience to further improve our service....and as anyone may have guessed right, raidentech.com is our parent company but because raidentech.com is overloaded with calls and emails on other stuffs (besides airplanes) everyday, they were unable to provide enough supports for the good airplane people...that's why we spin off nitroplanes.com so we can assemble a team of customer service just to cater to this special group....and i think with Bob P.'s case, we were in the process of relocating to a bigger warehouse so things got REALLY MESSY from July to September of 2006...i mean, we were moving people, computers, database, servers, inventories, furnitures, junks and all sorts of craps that i guess alot of things sorta screwed up during the whole process...
anyway, now that we have a MUCH bigger warehouse and office and a bigger staff to work with, things will be improving and we'll continue to provide the best quality products at the best price with the best service (especially for RCU and AMA members)
bottomline, most of our bad press came from our parent company raidentech.com (we still work together, just a different set of customer service team and managers...) but if you order with nitroplanes.com, you'll guarantee the best service at the best price...and we will always match anyone's price and service if you let us know!
PS: Raidentech.com is improving alot too...i mean they had like only 2 customer service guys last year doing emails/phone calls and RMA....but now they have over 10 people specializing...so ya...everything's improving and nobody wants to pist off anymore RCU people : )
as for the red arrow and cessna 310, none of them come with retracts and both airplane are not retract ready....i read through the ads and didn't notice anything about having retracts...so please correct me if i'm wrong....
Thanks!

I'm curous here as to what your thoughts are on "all" the negativity said here regarding Nitroplanes and Raidentach. Why don't you guys answer emails?
You really can't judge a company by a few RCU member complaints. I'm sure 99.9% are happy customers. Even the bigger websites can make mistakes. You will always get that one person who you can't satisfy no matter what you do. Then he bad mouths the company to no end.

Nitrostaff1, I am going to wait until your planes are in stock. Are they going to be the same trim scheme as in the oringinal photo? That is by far the best scheme I have seen on a YAK.
