I'm putting my aeroworks 31% edge together and I have a question. I'm using Nelson control horn assembles formerly known as Rocket City. they are #RCL 70 Anyway, I "m wondering exactly how to install them.
I'm looking at the aileron and you know how it tapers..... well if I drill the hole for that long screw they use as the control horn perpendicular to the bottom surface of the aileron, when it comes out the other side it will not be perpendicular to the top surface. (because the aileron tapers back.
then on the top side the countersink style screw will be at an angle to the top surface. And to make matters worse they tell you not to countersink the screw head.
Can anyone tell me the correct way to install Rocket City hardware?
thanks a million

you will have to jig your aileron to 0 degree incidence and drill 90 degree from top, don't worry about hardware as it will conform to shape of aileron when you tighten them down but the bolt will still be at 90 degrees.

LIke fryfly said, don't worry about the angle. Just drill the hole 90 degrees to the centerline of the aileron. That is, 90 degrees from the line that runs from the trailing edge through the leading edge of the surface.
