Can any of you guys who have the model tell me what retract servo you would recommend for the model. My delivery is delayed, and I want to get the plane done as quickly as possible...

Hello, I have the standard Cirrus retract servo in mine. JR and Hitec also make great servos. Get a low profile servo. I had to cut out the mounting rails on mine and make new ones that set the servo deeper in the pocket. The EZ connectors and the retract wires were rubbing (badly) on the underside of the wing sheeting. Let me know if you have this problem as well.

Thank you Dave! I have just been advised that the kit should be here within 10 days... Let me get my hands on the bird and I will get to talk to you. By the way, I cut my modeling teeth at the basin, and also in Glendale where we flew next to the freeway for 6 years.....

Hey Capn,
I've only been flying out of the basin for a year now. Man, it gets crowded on the weekends. 7-10 planes in the air at one time is common. Then we're out there racing around and between these guys....really keeps you on your toes. I've never been to the glendale field- have some buddies that fly there. I fly out of Robin's Field in Sylmar sometimes. Only 1-2 planes in the air at a time. Fantastic field but an almost non-existant "final" makes for some interesting landings. We'll talk again when you get your plane. I'm sure you'll love it.

I am a charter member of the Port a Pottis, and have shopped at Robin's since it was Dave's Custom Models. Only seven models at a time at the Basin? Traffic must be down. The Glendale site that we flew at ( I started the Glendale Skyhawks along with Jim Feldmann) closed in 1987, but Erroll Williams got approval to fly on the other side of the road.... I have never flown in Sylmar at Robin's site... Do you ever go up to El Mirage Dry Lake with the Pottis? Lotsa fun...
TTYL, Thanks for your help

I've with the PPP's for a year now. I have a full size Cessna 182 that I've been trying to go R/C out of but they go to El Mirage over Memorial Day and I'm usually at the river then. Maybe this year I can come back a day early. There are a couple other full scale pilots and I hear it's a pretty cool weekend fly in.

I just bought the A127 model at my LHS. The box asks for a .70 four stroke. I am planning on putting my O.S. 70 surpass on it. I have a .61 FX but I would like to fly the plane with my .70 four stroke. I am not that worried about speed, but I want a plane that flies well. It really is a big plane. Has any body tried to fly it with the recommended .70 4C?

WM traditionally understates their power recommendations for their ARFs. I have a Saito .91 on my WM P-51 - they recommend nothing above a .70 but the plane flies brilliantly with the larger motor. I have to compensate for the P-effect when swinging larger props, but that's all. It also lands just fine - no tipstalling tendencies at all, and I don't need to use flaps or spoilerons.
I really like the Spitfire - its my favorite warbird. Should I ever sell (or stuff) my P-51 I know what I'll be replacing it with
