Thanks for the info, I think I'll seal mine as well. Do you guys have dry weights? It looks as though mine is going to end up pretty close the recomended balance point with the gasser up front and around 10lbs.

Good luck in the contest. You might also want to look into spell checker. LOL

I was thinking about selling this plane but now once i get my motor back ( crank snaped in half when taking the prop nut off) I decided I might just fly it. The only problem I had is if it slowed down at all it would fall out like a rock. Does this happen to anyone or does anyone have a fix to this problem?

Finally got the maiden in on mine yesterday. It is still a little nose heavy but it seems to float pretty well. I think getting the CG closer to neutral and it will float beautifully. Overall it is a great flying airplane.

Mine floats with the nose level, with the nose down it loses altitude quickly but doesn't pick up a lot of speed. The cowl is like a speed brake I guess.

My CG exactly at the rear of the wing tube right now. I think moving it a bit further back and it would be perfect. I will try soon and post the results. Unfortunately I line in the Pacific NW and the weather is turning. I hope to fly it again in the next few days while the weather is still fair if I can dodge out of work one day.

I'm planning on getting one of the Seagull Yaks and using my G20 for power. Do you think with it turning a Xoar 16x8 at say 8700 rpm is enough pop for the Yak ??

I'm running the g20ei with a 16x6 and fly's great. you will have to try the 16x8 and see how it fly's. the 16x8 is out of spec. by 2 pitch. it will fly but not sure on power.

make sure your not tail heavy or your tail will go into a high speed snap. my cg with that engine is 5 1/2 at root.

Of all the coincidences, I voted for your model two days ago which is my choice of the available colour schemes, along with the pale blue Citabra and that georgeous Ultimate. Thanks for the CG tip but I have been following this thread and am aware of the danger in having a tail heavy model.

I plan on flying mine as a weekend sport/aerobatic model and figure that with a 16x6 prop the engine's rpm would be way above it's max torque range of 8500 - 9000 rpm.

TKG, I saw your Yak picture in an earlier post, is the pipe on your G-20 for power, noise, or both? What kind is it, were did you get the header - pipe, etc... Thanks.

Its a Toni Clark setup, for more power and less noise. Also less $$ in the wallett

I just ran a tank full of fuel through mine this evening. All I need to do now is get the CG set and check the control throws and I will be putting mine in the air for the first time. Can't wait. This was by far the best ARF I have put together.

one problem that i had was with the stabilizer wires were so flimsy. i replaced mine with some carbon fiber ones and could really tell a difference in flight.
