Kyosho AT-6 Texan- "CG"
This thing is in the CG stage. Directions as usual are stupid but I have done this a few times. What puzzles me is this. Says 90mm back. Now is that from where the wing meets the side of the fuse or in front of the retract area.
At the moment this thing seems to be tail heavy and I am running a .90 and a Pitts too! Have not come across this before.
You all put the battery and receiver up front? Your comments would be welcome.

RE: Kyosho AT-6 Texan- "CG"
I'd be very interested in what you found out concerning the CG on the Kyosho AT-6. I've had this thing sitting around for years and I have finally got around to getting it all assembled.
I have an OS 61 FX in it, pitts muffler and a Higley heavy hub and the thing still neads a pound of weight of front if I measure the CG from the "shoulders" just behind the cowling! Impossible!
If I measure the CG from a point extending from the leading edge of the wing to a point next to the fuselage, the CG is perfect...
Please respond. Thanks.

Zipperneck, if you can calculate the Mean Aerodynamic Chord, then set the CG at 25% MAC and it should fly fine for the test flights.

RE: Kyosho AT-6 Texan-
Thanks for the link - I'll check it out. The thing is, however, that the wing features this funky "shoulder" bit at the wing root on the leading edge. The Kyosho manual just says to measure back 90 mm from the LE - not mentioning this bit.
I used the calculations in the link and the plane balances out fairly well! I'll just have to move the battery around a bit... adding no additional weight. This measurement was from the LE of the "shoulder" portion.
Cross your fingers and thanks for your help.

RE: Kyosho AT-6 Texan-
I took out my Kyosho AT-6 for its maiden last Saturday. I was a bit appréhensive but I stuck to the 25% CAm rule, measuring back from the LE and not the "shoulder" area. I let her roll a long while before taking off and she rose into the air without a hitch.
The OS 61 FX was more than enough muscle and I flew her around at half throttle while trimming her out. No problems. After a few in-flight CG checks, I decided to move the battery back a bit and things balanced out great. I'm keeping the heavy higley hub.
Thanks for all your help.
