I wonder why , when I see so many Cessna 172 and 182 planes both in the air and always parked at our airport, there are so few nice arf models available for less that $5oo.? I could be wrong, because I would like to find a nice scale or 40-=60 size.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

You're kidding right? The Skylane and the Cub are the most modeled airplanes in the history of modeling.

The Cub is a cult unto itself, but I can see the issue with Cessnas. About the only good quality Cessna model I can think of is the H9 ARF, and that is larger than 60 size. The CMP new version has an unfortunate paint scheme that looks more like an "aero toy" than a scale model, also larger than 60 size. There really is not a lot out there that I think would qualify as a "nice" scale 40 - 60 size.

How about Cessna 120/140 170,180 or 195's. Give me the classic taildraggers anyday. The only reason to fly 172's is to move into something else.

I am officially a tool. [sm=red_smile.gif]

I read the second post by Yak 18 and went on a rampage to find every CUB and Cessna I could locate.

Seams the original poster only wanted to talk about the Cessna. And here I was posting a link to every Cub known to man. [sm=red_smile.gif]

Ah well, plenty of the Cessnas in the list too.

Anyone wanna build a Cub? [sm=lol.gif]

You forgot the cubs available from The World Models. And don't forget the new Cessna from RC Guys. They've even got a great Cessna video. There are many, many choices for these two planes out there. Some quality...some not.[&o]

Okay, World Models is Airborne models...didn't realize that. But look at that Cessna! What a beauty! Hangar 9 used to have a so-so quality 40 sized Cessna but morphed it into a beautiful, QUALITY large scale model. I know 'cause I have both. Later version much better.

The only quality model out there is the Great Planes model from Towers in the 40 sized variety. I'd spend $$ on that. My final .02 worth.

The majority of us buy models that reflect the desires and personality of our alter ego (fighter pilot, aerobatics expert, etc.). Just what fantasy would the 182 fulfill? <G>
