Default Great planes pitts 1/3 engine??

Hi:-)
I"m about to buy this plane from a local flyer. He has a fuji 32 mounted in it, it has never been in the air so I wonder if that engine is to weak for this plane?
I just want to fly it scale like, but however it needs to have some power of course!

Thanx

You will need at least a 45cc engine while 50cc would be even better. It will be anemic with the Fuji 32. Some guys over power these planes with a 60cc plus... that is not needed.

Godt Nytår!

I don't think it will be totally unflyable, just underpowered. Jeg boede in Danmark et stykke tid og kan lidt skandinavisk

Du snakker bra!
But as you might have found out, I"m not that good in english
The thing is that it"s so cheap, but if it won"t be a good flyer with that engine , I just leave it.
what would you have done in this situation?

soarrich:
It is cold here from october to may. At summer it is a nice temerature, even to hot sometimes!
But I want to move to usa and educate me as a pilot. At daytona beach florida it is a very popular school called phoenix east aviation, that one really seems interesting. But you know, 16 years old and another language, I don"t think that will be easy!!?

Thanx again

The size of the engine may be the reason he what's to sell it. Discount the cost of a better engine. You would have to fly that plane a full throttle just to keep it in the air. Dennis

Murdoc,
If you want to move to the USA for aviation/pilot school, there is also Embry- Riddle schoold located in Arizona and Florida. You may want to check out their website.

By the way, your English is pretty good!

BTW, I built a GP Pitts for a customer and used the OS 300 Super Gemini Twin four stroke engine. Excellent performance and a realistic sound coming from the Slimline Pitts muffler.

My Pitts has a Fuji BT 50SA in it. I would not fly it with anything less.. If you get in trouble low above the ground I don't think the 32 will have enough power the get you out of a jam.
Just my 2 cent's worth.

That would be like flying the old Byron Pitts powered by a Q35 Quadra. It flew about like a Falcon 56 with an OS Max .35S R/C on the nose. It would loop and Immelmann from level flight without diving to pick up airspeed, but that was about it. Still, "back in the day" that pretty much summed up giant scale.

Hey I have a friend with the pitts and I have the Christen eagle He has a peguses 4 cyl in it flys great and sounds real cool. I have the Fuji 50 in mine there defenitly is a differance
His flys real scale like and is lighter. Mine flys with more authority but with more weight at 20pds. If cash is not a problem then go with the pegusus its real nice and you would not be dissapointed with it

And to get in good with the school teachers and administrators, tell them that you are only interested in learning how to fly - not taking off and landing. <G>

Just kidding, my friend. Just kidding...
