Has anyone seen anyone seen or heard anything good or bad about the Kondor Model Products ARF's that are being advertised in RCM. They have a great looking Chipmunk for $219, which in my opinion is cheap. I talked to the guy on the phone and he says he will have them in stock sometime in March. I'd love to have one, but don't want to get a sorry ARF that needs a lot of work. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Thanks,

Andy

I know Andrew Kondor and have seen his arfs. They are first class. Excellent glasswork/painting /covering and very light, they appear to be a very great value for the money. I know he has a container full of arfs expected to arrive very soon. I may get one for myself.

Hi-
We are the dealers in Scandinavia for these excellent new ARF models distributed by Kondor in USA and Canada. Sofar we have scrutinized closely the Gee Bee 120, the Extra 300S 120 and the Cessna 152 140-size. All kits are of first class construction and finish, the same applies for the included hardware, in fact they compare favorably to any existing, leading brand name in the market.. Among models we are expecting are P-51D 120, Sea Fury 120, F3A Arresti, Taylorcraft 50 and not least the P-38J Lightning 120. I enclose a picture of the P-38 production model, which will arrive later this spring.
Best regards

Just ordered my KMP Chipmunk from Ultimate-RC. Should be shipped out to me by the end of next week.. I can't wait. Now, what engine to install on it?

I went to Ultimate-RC to look at the best deals mentioned above, but all I saw were items for sale at list price.

Default The chipmunk has arrived

Well, the UPS man brought the chipmunk to my house this evening. It was nicely boxed up and inside was a very nice box with a picture of the Chipmunk on it. The specs for the wingspan are different on the box. The box says 63" and the website says 64". Not a big deal in my opinion.

Inside the box, everything was bagged and seperated by cardboard dividers. There was no damage. The fuse is absolutely perfect. The paint job is great and the formers appear to be epoxyed in with Bob violett epoxy, you know the white stuff that remains a little pliable and stays where you put it. All in all I was very happy with the fuse. The wheel pants and the cowl are fiberglass and of the same quality as the fuse. The wings are fully sheeted foam and were nicely covered in the red white and blue of the penzoil chipmunk. If you want to be picky, the red stripes on the top of the wing are spaced to far from the blue leading edge, but to me its not an issue either. I'm just trying to give everyone an honest view from a non biased consumer. The tail feathers were also covered nicely and perfectly packaged. The canopy is tinted smoke and wrapped in plastic. The parts bag is full of stuff that appears to be nice hardware and the wheels appear to be of good quality. The push rods are also quite acceptable.

I think the only mod I'll do to this plane is add some music wire to the aft part of the landing gear wire and anchor it to the wing to prevent the gear from folding back on less than perfect landings. Since the wings are foam, this shouldn't pose a problem.

The instructions are very nice and aren't those "cheezy" ones that come with some other arfs. The decals are typical mylar that your finger prints can mess up easily.

All in all, I'm very satisfied and would recommend the arf to anyone. Now I need to decide on an engine. They show an OS 52 in the instructions, but I don't think that will be enough engine. I'll probably go with a Saito 91 or 72. I've already got the 91

Later,

Andy

Default I purchased the Gee Bee!

Hi,

I purchased the Gee Bee from Ultimate-RC http://www.ultimate-rc.com and it came a couple days ago. Perfect condition and the quality was outstanding. Glass work was first class. Unfortunitly it will be months before I even get to fly it. Great arf from KMP.

Thank you,
Val'a

Sir, I think that might be from the old AMD line of Arfs. They are nearly identical though, but the Kondors have beefed up firewalls, landing gear blocks, and a few other upgrades. Its good to hear that the Munk flys well though.

Is the plane your referring to the same size as the KMP Chipmunk. I know there is another one out there that is similar, but it is a smaller wingspan, it think around 57" or so.
