I too opted for the Hanger 9 retract wheel wells as the AK supplied wells were brittle and too short in the down leg area.
What retracts are you using?

Thanks.

I replaced the stock ones with a set from Hangar 9 that go on their 60 size Marie. Haven't flown it yet, so I'm not sure how they'll hold up. I bought some 3/16 wire stock also, and may just replace the wires with 3/16. I know people who have done that and had good success. Even the stock hangar 9 retracts seem a little unsteady in the side to side support.

I installed Robart 605HD, 90 degree pneumatics.

I can post the final install if you want. This one is all I have at the moment...

PointMagu.... I've seen the pictures of your conversion and for a time debated on doing the same. I even printed out pictures of the construction from your other thread. I finally just opted to build it stock due mainly to the fact that Tower was out of stock of the B conversion kits. I wanted to get this bird completed in time for my clubs build contest which is just around the corner. Depending on how this plane holds up, I may opt for the Robart 605s down the line.

Miklos,

Your bird turned out very nice. The "battle damage" is a great addition, lol...

I still haven't 100% completed my Mustang. I got to building a Sukhoi for a buddy and then rebuilding his cracked-up Kangke Cap 232.
Then I got started on an antique Curtiss Robin so my P-51 progress ground to a halt. All that remains is to mount the fin and stab, hinge up the control surfaces and install the radio. The wing is done and the retracts cycle nicely.

If I don't focus and get it finished up before my laser-cut wood pack arrives for the A-26, it may not be until Summer before the Mustang see's some blue sky :-)

Guess I'm a builder 1st and a pilot 2nd, lol...

I'm using Koverall and butyrate dope to cover the Robin so the weather has played a major role on this one. No doping indoors!

Best of luck with your club's build contest! Hope your project wins.
