I was just curious what prop size anyone thinks is good for a SAITO 1.25 on a Hangar 9 Hellcat and a SAITO 1.80 in a Hangar 9 1.5 sized mustang. I have the Hellcat running a MAS 2 bladed 15x8 and it seems like the plane will not stay still at idle, even on grass. I have flown the 1.25 successfully in the Hangar 9 Corsair with the same result and the idle is not too high and it is smooth. Just curious what you guys think. Oh yeah, for the 1.80 I was thinking a MAS or APC 18x6, maybe the lesser pitch will keep the plane on the ground. Thanks.

I have a MAS 15x6 on my Saito 1.00 in my H9 Spitfire and she'll hold still on the ground and fly like a bat outa $%^ when prompted. I just got a Saito 1.25 for a WM Super Sports Sr. (a 9.5 lb sport plane) and will be using a APC 16x6. I wish I had results of that for you but I have read that is a good match for the 1.25... Sorry I do not have anything as big as your 1.80.

Thanks for the info guys. I think that the 8 pitch is just too much. I am going to try a 15x6 on the Hellcat and I think I am going to go with the 18x6 on the 1.80. I cant fly becuase her in Chicago we have single digit temps right now.

tommy, the 15x6 is not enough prop for the 125, i use a 16.5x5 on my 125, and like above , the 16x6 will probably be the one you would want on a hellcat
i would like the 8 pitch for the speed on it and would tighten up the wheels a little each session.

I use a 16x10 on my 150 size H9 Mustang with Saito 180. I read in a thread here on RCU that a lot of guys said the 18x6 would barely fly the P51. Most were either using a 17x8 or a 16x10 APC prop, I went with the 16x10 because I had one and it flies great. Lots of power and speed plus slows down good for landing.
