I'm thinking I'd like to give a biplane a try next and I'm looking for a decent ARF or RTC. I like the looks of the Super Stearman and the Waco. I've seen the Great Planes Super Stearman and like it. Anybody know of any other decent looking "Golden Age" biplanes they can recommend? I'm not interested in Pitts, Ultimate, Christen Eagle. I don't like the looks of biplanes with canopies. Just ain't right... Maybe a Camel, S.E. 5, or a Spad...
Probably have to be .60 - .90 sized. It's gotta fit in the back of a 2005 Focus ZX3. I might be able to stuff a 1.20 sized in there though.
My .90 size Edge fits okay...

Take an Ultimate or Skybolt and remove the canopy. Instead cut it and make a windscreen.
There is a recent thread on the Skybolt where this was done. It looks great this way.

This one is a beautiful build and easy to transport although not as classic as you might desire.
Sig Sundancer 50. I have a YS 63 in it but a 70 or even 80 FS would work.

Cut the canopy into a windshield on the Super Skybolt. I just put one together and what a great flying plane. Fits in the back of my Endever fully assembled, Its neat. A 60 two stroke or 91 four stroke should be good, mine's got a YS-110 and probablly a little overpowerd but I love it.

Model Tech makes a nice Sport Scale ARF of the S.E. 5a that's designed to fly with a .52 4-stroke engine. With a 49.5 inch wingspan, you can probably fit it into your car fully assembled and ready to fly:
