This is the third EZ Mustang I have owned and the first of the second generation. Yes, they are expensive but the quality, fit and ease of assembly is very good. Pictures cannot do it justice. I am a scale enthusiast and can appreciate the attention to detail. I can only describe the finished product as "stunning" I haven't flown this one yet...waiting for the weather to cooperate.
While there is nothing wrong with the hardware that comes with the kit, I always use std 4-40 on all my models. My latest is powered with an OS 61fx inverted with a Slimline "Inverted Sport" muffler. This muffler exits straight down through two exhaust stacks. I have two Hitec 225mg servos under the stab for elevator. The stock setup with the totaly enclosed elevator linkages is cool, but did not seem stiff enough for 100mph+ control.
I haven't flown this one yet, but if it flys like the previous versions, it will be smooth and pattern-like. The plane is capable of gliding a long ways if the engine dies. It is very aerobatic and would flat-spin very well. I learned that the hard way with my first EZ Mustang!
I would buy another. I think the price/quality is worth it, but I haven't owned a Kyosho to compare. Remember, this one is foam covered with vinyl and must be handled lightly. If repairing the plane is important, World Models makes a P-51 with shrink covering. But it cant compare in the looks dept. Sorry WM

Thanks for all the good info. I had an EZ FW190 that I loved. Got it second hand so I did'nt pay full pop. One of the best flyers I've ever owned.
I heard the new mustang looks even better in person than in the pics and thats what I'm looking for. I've had a WM mustang and it went together great and flew fantastic but the cowl is a little off. Kyosho is very nice but vague in the instructions(which I dont really need) and they are pricey without any retracts.
I think I'm sold on the EZ, sounds like a good place for a brand new YS-63 4s to sit!

I reviewed one in RC Excellence mag last fall. I used an Enya 50 CX and retracts. It flew great and landed like a baby in spite of a skinny looking airfoil. I just reviewed the EZ Dago Red Mustang (in this issue) and I installed an Enya 80 4 stroke. It is just as nice as the P-51. You should really like them. They fly well with a variety of engines.

Well, I bought the P-51 warbird and the new VooDoo racer. Been flying the VooDoo with a YS-45 and it's pretty fast. Smooth too!
This past weekend I flew the warbird. It has a YS-63 4s in it. Again it's almost as fast as the VooDoo.
Really nice flyers and they land great. I will get some pics together.

Not too many places carry them and they are pricey! Sometimes you might find a place that has cut the price to get rid of the stock. Try CHIEF ! I bought mine straight from ALTECH MARKETING. If I remember right the guys name was Mark. Really nice guy and the company is first rate. My first flight with the VooDoo I ripped the canopy off and could'nt find it. I called him and they replaced it at no charge!
Good Luck! I'm really happy with them both even though they were $$$.

I had the EZ Zero with an OS90 4-stroke and Graupner 12x6 3-bladed prop. It was one sweet flying plane. It flew like it was on rails. One spin too many did me in but only after 300+ flights. Yoy can't go wrong with one of the EZ warbirds. Just try not to purposely put them in a spin. Other than that they are great!

I have had three of the EZ Dago Reds with a YS 91 and APC 13 X 8 prop and they were all great. If I needed another fast warbird in that size I would gladly buy another one. You really can't ask for more if you want a fast plane that really flys like its on rails.

I have owned two of the older series EZ Dago Reds and they both had piped OS 61SF's in them and man where they fast!! One of the best planes I ever had was the EZ 30 size Super Chipmunk. I had an OS 48 Surpass in it and it would do evrey trick in the book. I could do knife edge climbs and circles all day. It would do a wicked inverted spin, that would go flat if you let it. But that was always my last manuver as it flamed out the Surpass. I have also owned an EZ 60 size Super Decathalon on EZ Floats. One sweet floatplane with a 70 Surpass. That one I crashed when I had radio failure, I think the radio battery went bad.
But I have been lucky enough to replace the Super Decathalon!! I have one NIB now. But I cant find a pair of EZ floats for it.
However my rarest EZ find is my NIB 60 size Super Chipmunk with a pair of NIP original Supra folding retracts!!!!!!! This baby is getting a pumped OS 91 Surpass II in her. Just a beautiful plane.
So I have flown or owned almost most of the old EZ line and they are top notch ARF's. Highly recomended.
Does anyone have a pair of 40 size EZ floats they want to sell for my Super D? If so please let me know.
Thanks Viper

EZ wrote the book on quality arf. I have had numerous kits but the P51 is the best flying. I have a 1st generation razorback B model with over 400 flights on it's second engine. Flying now a Saito 80, it first had a os90 but it was too nose heavy.

Problems with the EZ ARFs are that they're really priced way too high. Sure they're the best lookin' close up, but flying around, can anyone tell the difference? In terms of flight performance, I believe that the World Models and Kyosho ARFs are at least on par with the EZ...

Beat On 60 (Midaired in 1 Week)
P51-B Mustang (still got)
And thay all fly great, superb kits!

I recently picked up an EZ Dago Red P-51 Mustang. At least I think it is. It is built up balsa construction, and red covering with a wing span of about 63 inches. There are no instructions or markings in the box. All the parts seem to be there. I have tried to search for them on line but have not been very successful. Do you have an old instruction manual that I can use, scan or buy. I am confident that I can assemble it but would like to know things like recommended engines, control throws, etc.
