Default Phoenix Tigershark

Is anyone out there flying this model?
What setups are you using.

I have one fitted with a TT46Pro engine and 10/7 APC prop but it seems very underpowered.
I'm not sure whether it is because the tank is so far back from the engine (I'm not using a regulator or pump).
I run 15% Nitro / 3% Castor / 17% Coolpower fuel

I just want some speed out of it but can't seem to get it with this motor - I've tried a few different props.

Any suggestions?

I have a spare ST51 and a few Saitos (82, 56, 65 & 72) that I could use on it, otherwise I may have to get a bigger engine but I am not sure how easily it will balance if I do that.

cheap answer would be a magnum 52 2 stroke. ... the perfect answer would be a jett 50 or a rossi but price is alittle more.
i have 2 tigersharks one with a magnum 52 and a jettstream muffler, it works great. other is a rossi 53 with UT muffler also works great.

What speed is it going, that you consider sluggish? Just curious......

Mine has a Webra 50GT with open pipes and it has flown on both a 10x6 and a 9x7. Wave-O-Scope measured at 110+ mph, I think it was.

I haven't measured the actual speed but when my sons fly my Ultrastick 1.20 lite with a Saito 1.80 and 16/8 APC prop and I fly the Tigershark around the pylons, they beat me hands down for speed (By close to a lap after 3 minutes and certainly a lot faster along the straights).

This is a real problem at the dinner table that night (Teenagers - what more can I say).

We don't actually compete in pylon races, we just do these things for fun. (I have a Viper 500 with the same motor and a tuned pipe for real fun).

The only way I can keep up with the Ultra Stick is to get airborne faster than them, Climb as high as I can then use a dive to build the airspeed and try to keep it there. This is fine provided they have a problem getting airborne (I would never dream of turning out their high speed needles by a turn when they're not looking) but if we make it to the flight line at around the same time - the ground roll of the stick is much less than the Tigershark.

Even when we swap planes, The same result happens - I beat them by about the same amount with the Stick.

I know these models will go faster - I've seen it. I've fibreglassed the wing joint so it should be ok there.

Maybe I'll put my Jett 61 in it

I'm also thinking of buying an OS 55AX for it but am open to suggestions on that. Then again over here I can get the Magnum/ASP's at a very good price

I forgot to mention that the TT engine only has about a gallon through it. It's my first TT engine so I'm not too sure how long they take to run in. It also uses the stock exhaust at the moment.
