Not yet.
Still working on reliability and throws.
Tail slides and spins are fun. I am having trouble getting the spins to flatten out. I assume it is just a control throw issue.

You have a Saito 180 that does not run consistently?
#1 Recheck both valves for proper clearance.
#2 OS type "F" plug only.
#3 Reset valves to factory start points. Go to top throttle and turn lean to top rpm. Back off 300 rpm. Set idle to 2000 or so. Lean it out until it transitions well.
I just did all of that on my 72. I gained almost 1000 rpm on top, and after turning the low end needle in almost a full turn from the starting point, it whips the 14x4 to rpm quite well. After it is set, don't bug it again.

Hey RCA,
What kind of plug are you using in that 180? I've been flying Saito engines for a little over three years and have only had a couple of flame outs ever. I know my Saito runs best on OS type F plugs. If you are using something else, it might be worth trying the F type plug before doing other things.

From: Richardson, TX,
I am using an "F" plug. I had the LHS 4 stroke engine guru break it in and tune it for me as I am new to 4 strokes.
A couple of people at the field tried to tune it better and set it back to what he had set it at. I guess never underestimate the power of a guru.
The only thing I can think of is that either fuel tank placement or I have a flameout situation due to an improper idle needle setting.
The engine pulls very strong and transitions beautifully. The only bad vices is the flame outs and a little bit of a rough idle.
I set the idle at ~2500. I am swinging an APC 16x10 ~9600 rpm at full song.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks,
RCA
