Just showing off what can be done with a "boring cookie-cutter" ARF
This used to be a Great Planes Big Stik .40 ARF. One of the old versions that sold in the late 90's. This is my all-time favorite design and I have owned four of them.
OS .46FX on the nose. I did the modifications after I decided she needed recovering. Doubled the size of the airlerons, converted to low-wing fuselage, V-tail mod, plywood tip plates. I haven't flown her since the work, but maybe this Saturday.

I didn't put a canopy on it for the same reason I kept the teardrop stab. shape. I wanted it to retain some Stik appearance. I flew her today for the first time since the modifications. All went well. She's every bit as stable as in the stock form, and respods very well to my inputs. I've got to reduce the incedence of the wing becaus eit balloons a bit after picking up some speed, but other than that I'm very pleased with the way it flies.
