Hm,
i guess that the "competition" between companies for sport models has become!
After the very good Pulse Xt from Hangar 9, now
it's GreatPlanes turn.
It's name is REVOLVER and promises very much from the look!
Have a nice day!

I like Great Planes Kits and will continue to build them; However when it comes to ARF's Hanger 9 has my vote. Hanger 9 makes well built true ARF's that take minimal time ot put together. Great Planes ARF's are well built but only 65-70% complete and take a lot of time to finish all the little work to get the thing in the air. The hardware with Hanger 9 is complete, Great Planes NOT. The control surfaces on Hanger 9 ARF' are already attached, Great Planes NOT. I could go on but not worth it. If I wanna kit I will prefer Great Planes, If I wanna ARF I'm buying Hanger 9.

You are out of topic.
Topic is about Revolver.
Your post should be deleted because we don't want a comparison between companies here.

Well said Costas!
Hey Waross if you want to argue H-9 quality you need to go to this thread. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5919673/tm.htm Some guy is bashing your beloved H-9 planes.
As for GP I like having the option of putting what ever kind of hinges I want on their planes.
The Revolver looks great. It reminds me of a 3-D version of a Little Tony. I am glad to see GP staying on the ball.

Best looking sport model GP has put out in quite some time IMO. I'll be looking for one soon if flight reports are good.

Minnflier thank you for the pic.
Do you know where i can find some more?
Also,
are there any chances for an RCU review for Revolver?

Yah, once I saw that thin wing and the wing loading figures, I knew it wasn't anything like a Pulse-XT. I couldn't find any other photos, not even on the Great Planes site.

According to the information at Tower, that is an aluminum spinner on the nose and it comes with the ARF as part of the standard hardware. This is the sweetest looking ARF that Great Planes has put out at least since the Reactor!
Well, the new Catalina flying boat is very nice looking, but it's difficult to get excited about a small electric plane that will cost $800 to get in the air because it uses two brushless outrunners and two brushless speed controllers.
I never thought we'd see another ARF with foam core wings again, but the Revolver's got them. Add me to the list of anxious readers waiting for the RCU review.

Tower notes estimate flying Weight of 6 - 7 lb (2720 - 3180g) and recommend a .46 to .55 two stroke OR a .70 four stroke.
I'd probably base engine choice on weight needed (to balance) and the ones I'd be deciding between would probably be the OS 55AX and the 70 Surpass.
The OS 55AX weighs 14.25 ounces plus a pitts muffler. The recommended muffler doesn't have a weight listed.
The OS 70 Surpass weighs 22.1 ounces with muffler.
When they planes actually arrive, and we get assembly reports, we'll know a lot more.

If you go to Tower and look in the coming soon section under Just Announced they actually have a video link that shows the Revolver flying. They also show a lot of the highlights of the plane. For example it comes with an aluminum spiner, Detailed pilot figure, plug in wings, airfoiled tail feathers, and by the looks of it the servos for the tail are mounted in the centre fuselage rather than on the aft fuselage. One of the cool things I noticed was a photo of the engine mount. They have made a wooden box mount like you would find on a large gasser, then they had the reciever battery strapped to the top of the box just behind the engine under the pre drilled Cowel. This plane looks incredible, and acording to the video, it flys like it looks. I think GP has another winner on its hands.
P.S. Anyone who thinks H-9 Makes better ARFs should build GP Reactor 46-3D. Ive built both and the new GP ARFs are amazing I actually prefer them to H-9 now !!
