Great Planes Venus II ARF .61-.91,66"
I am wondering if my O.S. 91 Surpass 4-stroke engine will be enough for this plane?
Any comments would be highly appreciated.
thanks,
charlie

From: Center of the Flyover States,
At your elevation of about 615 feet an OS .91 Surpass should put out about 10-11 pounds of thrust. That in a 8.5-9.5lb plane would provide good sport porformance, but would not be competitive at all in a contest. You should easily be able to get into the air with an engine that you already own. But later I would bet that you would want more power for the Venus II.

I have a Venus II with an OS 120 FS. It flies very well but I would not want any less power. Some are using YS 1.40. Check out the very long thread on the Venus II under the Pattern Flying section.
If you really are "hungryandbroke" it will fly you around.

I'm just a sport flyer and do not intend on getting into any contests. But on the other hand, I don't want an engine that's just going to barely get me around!
