This is the Explorer-L from [link]http://www.texasrcplanes.com[/link] I picked it up from my dad last week and during the build I ran into a few problems that were not clear in the manual. These Chinese ARF's for the most part do not have very good instruction manuals and a lot of things you have to figure out on your own. I used most of the supplied hardware just to see how it will hold up and this is where the fun began. The kit uses dowel pushrods that you have to build yourself. They are all different lengths and I had a time figuring out how they went. Other than that, it went together pretty smooth.

Arrrrgh!
I know this is an old thread, but I'm trying to figure out the pushrod deal with the Explorer L
"ARF" I bought. I installed the servos per Acam37's picture in another thread, Rudder-Front Wheel
servo on left, Elevator in middle, and Throttle on right (looking down into the servo bay). Rudder
pushrod exits on left and elevator on right (looking at bottom of plane).
Problem is, it seems the pushrods and dowls are not the right lengths to make this arrangement work.
Either too long or too short.
There are two short pushrods of different lengths and the dowls are different lengths. The longer pushrods
are the same length. Can anyone tell me what the combinations are that go together (pushrods and dowls?)
Also, how did you install them in the plane? I cut a small 'hatch' in the rear of the plane where they exit to
guide them.
Do the pushrods need a little bending prior to installation to make them line up with the control horns?
Thanks for any input!!! This plane has been a frustrating build for a relative beginner.[
