Racsal 110 / Zenoah G23
I have the Rascal 100 (Red) with a Zenoah G23 up front. The G23 is great for general flying. The Sig folks advised me against mounting a G38 as they were concerned about the strength of airframe.
I had originally bought a GMS 1.2 glow but chose to use ignition.
Great flying bird!

The rascals are great looking airplanes. Do they fly similar to a cub? What about a Fuji 34cc for power? I can get one pretty cheap from a buddy of mine.

I got a Zenoah G26 mounted in the front of my 110 . . . it took some creative customizing from several of the guys in my club to get it soft mounted with rubber grommets. But the outcome is just fantastic. It's coming together slower than I want but oh well. I'm swinging a 18 6 prop what are you guys using?

Just finished my 110, had quite a lot of covering to de-wrinkle, but came out fine. Haven't flown yet due to weather. My engineer friend says the Rascal 110 was as good an ARF as he has seen . We used a Saito 1.20, which fit good, also using an on board glow starter. Balanced with just a small amount of added nose weight. Looking forward to the first flight. Will mix some rudder with the ailerons.

Well today was the first flight . . . it was awsome! The plane was true and straight - and jumped into the air. With a 26cc engine it flew for almost 20 minutes before it floated to a perfect landing . . . thanks to our club trainer (thanks Colin) anyway a great experience and a wonderfull plane! HAve a great summer everyone!!

Finally finished mine. I used a MDS 1.48. No problem in construction and balance is dead on with no lead. I did find a crushed rib on the right wing panel. I called SIG and they have another wing kit on the way. ....Johnny

Crushed Rib
I had the same problem and call Sig. They immediately sent me a new wing. I got in in 2 days. I was very pleased with their quick response.
I have now seen 3 or 4 posts around where this same broken rib problem has happened.

First flight- saito 150, zinger 16x8 prop- way over powered. Will go straight up at half throttle and maintain altitude a few clicks above idle. I had to kill the engine mid flight to land. It's got a glide ratio that would make a glider pilot envious. I was thinking of trying a saito 100 I have. Captjckirk- have you flown yours with the 120 yet?

Just got back from my annual Spring fishing trip, so haven't had the time. Hopefully this next week. Will let you know how it goes. A 120 is Sigs' low side engine choice, so I would start there. Joe

Flew mine today with a 1.48 MDS for power. I'm running a 18X6 TF prop and it performs very well. It took a couple of down clicks and a couple left rudder. It will pull large loops and fly a pretty nice knife edge. If using a computer radio... add a little rudder coupling for turns and you should be in good shape............It's a keeper.....Johnny
