Default Help in selecting another aircraft

Hey guys,

So yesterday, I decided to drive my Hobbico Superstar into the ground, so I'm in the market for a new plane.

I just began learning this year, and have just started flying inverted and doing rolls, etc...

I need suggestions for my new plane, here's my criteria:
- Cost less than $150 Canadian
- ARF
- I would really like to put floats on this right away!
- Be a step-up from a trainer, but I still am pretty new, so not too much of a step
- I want to use my old Tower Hobbies .40 engine, and 4ch radio

I'm looking at the following at the moment:
Hangar 9 - Super Stick 40 ARF, $120
Great Planes - Easy Sport .40 MkII, $135
Great Planes - Dazzler 40, $110
Hangar 9 - Twist 3d, $110
Hobbico - Avistar, $120

I'm open to any other make of course, but those are the ones the local hobby shop carries that seem to meet my criteria.

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate any help!

the choices are plenty out there. Go with what YOU like and would like to try. Opinions are just that [X(]

I had fun with the UltraStick series from H9 and had a blast with them. Lets you experiment with setups and are a hoot to fly.

good luck

There's not a bad plane on your list, although I'll throw out a vote for the Easy Sport for sentimental reasons. It's a really nice flying aircraft.

All nice airplanes. I`m a confirmed fan of the Avistar. If you`re a relatively new pilot, it might be a nice choice. Avistar can be a bit more frisky than a flat bottomed wing trainer, but hardly unmanageable. Now, if you should elect to upgrade a bit and put a 46 up front, that can be a different ball game! MUCH better airplane, IMHO, with a 46. Properly set up will do all the basic aerobatics.

A good list. Would vote for the easy sport. You might want to consider the Kyosho Calmato sport 40. It is super easy to assemble, and is considered an Aerobatic trainer. It is as easy to fly as a trainer, lands easy and takes off easy. Good luck whatever you choose. After the second plane, a Tower Kaos would be a good choice. Again easy to fly and very aerobatic (the only problem is that it flies pretty fast).

Thanks a lot guys!

After considering your opinions and reading up on the planes, I went with the Easy Sport. Still finishing putting it together, but so far it looks great and the ARF look sot be pretty well done.

Now to get some floats on that sucker!
