I haven't flown a gasser before but I have flown the twist 150 with a Saito 180 four stroke. I've never seen a need to talk about throttle response. My Saito does what I tell it to do when I tell it to do it IMO.

Why, is there a difference with gas engines? I'm learning here.

I have a saito 4 stroke engine and 2 gas engines and they all seem to respond the same. Depends on how there tuned mainly if one is richer then the other the throttle response may be a little more sluggish but not much. I dont even see a difference in the 2 stroke nitro engines. the response seems the same just depends on how fast your servo opens the throttle and how good you have it tuned.

i would think a faster servo would give a faster response. but if the engine isnt tuned right and it opens faster then the fuel can catch up. then it will probably die.

I figure as long as it runs good and transitions from idel to full throttle smoothly thats all that matters.

Just my 2 cents

Ditto what link said. Also remember the pitch of the prop plays a role in transition. A flat low pitch prop will rev faster than a high pitch.

Props make a difference of course and fourstrokes have more torque off the bottom than two strokes but there is a difference in the
way a gasser delivers the power. Its not gonna haul ***** rocket style out of a hover like a Saito 180 will.

Come up with a simple 1-color graphic for the Twist 150 Brotherhood and I'll make up some vinyl decals with brotherhood numbers and sell the 1st one for the postage to ship it. Give me a brotherhood number and I'll post pics of the one I make for my plane.

Plane now in USPS system on its way to me. OS FX-160 with standard muffler and Hitech 56xxs digitals on flying surfaces.

Jim,

go to the posts where I assigned everyone a number and take the next one after the last. Don't have time to do that for you right now, but post your number with your regular posts here and let's share info related to this plane.
BTW...are you in the sign biz? I make decals, too, using a Roland VersaCamm 300 VP running on FlexiSignPro v8.00. Yep, I'm in the sign biz and it's great to be in charge of your own graphics. See me at www.makuchalsigns.com - but I'd love to get a vinyl decal from you if you design one when my new Twist finally comes in.

Barry,
The assigned numbers are as follow:

Twist 150 Brotherhood #
outacontrol41...............1
NCIS...........................2
defaris........................3
snacker.......................4
GWARREN2..................5
lefnut...........................6
raptor 8.......................7
RACJ...........................8
Walt and Sage..............9
crebulus......................10
renwick56...................11
linkadrip.....................12

I think I got everyone. The names are listed and assigned a number in the order that each individual wrote in to say they had a Twist 150....this is only fair. Others who get Twists and want to join the brotherhood can simply look at this list and assign themselves a higher numer after the last club member that joined. To everyone named and loves flying their H9 Twist 150, I say welcome to our club. Read our thoughts, add your own, and genearally have fun!!!

Not in the sign biz per se, just do it for myself local acquaintances. 24" Enduracut running with VE LXI v8.0 Master Plus.

I don't have a problem with #13 but others do so I'll take 14.

BTW, I have owned 3 40-size Twists and they were my favorite airplaines. I lost two of them to dumb-thumbs and one to total loss of radio control; I still have all the many many many pieces. All of the Hanger 9 Twists have one thing in common: They are not designed to survive even the simplest crash without major surgery.

Dam it's a beautiful day here no wind sun shining in the high 60's.[sm=teeth_smile.gif] So I went to my flying field and there are Now No trespassing sighns up everywere dam dam.[sm=48_48.gif] i had my onboard camera ready too. going to take an inflight video and test it out. Dam Dam[:@]. There was no one out there but with the No trespassing sighns surrounding the property ever few feet i just cam home.[sm=cry_smile.gif] Now i'm on the search for who really owns the property is it the state of federal government who knows[sm=72_72.gif]. Acording to google maps it is a national forest.

Then i'll go to the proper owner or owners of the property and hopefully with some luck they will permit me to continue flying out there this really sucks[sm=angry_smile.gif]. Have to get a zoning map or something. SO looks like the Twist 150 is going no were for awhile. I know what happened all them people dumping there garabage and traash out there on the property.[sm=48_48.gif] what the hell is wrong with people why cant they just goto the dump like everyone else does why do they have to ruin a perfectly good place.[sm=punching.gif]

Thanks every one for letting me vent my frustration. well looks like i'm going to be hunting for new flying grounds and or property owners, guess i could drive to the desert but its so far away.[&o]

Made all new linkages for the Twist 150 ran it was all ready to go so excited to maiden it with an onbaord camera and now this has to happen.[sm=what_smile.gif]

Well with the help of the city government i found out who the owners of the property are and i'm commensing the enquiry of use of the property for flying. With some luck they will agree and i will continue to have a place to fly if not then i will have to accept there wishes and move onto new flying grounds. [&o]

Well not all is lost at least i got my pilot for my Twist 150 Finally. Mr Maggo bobble head is pretty cool. when the engine is running his little head bobs around /vibrates gives him a real life like look.[sm=bananahead.gif] lol

Sure in the hell glad the signs didn't say that lol. Nope just little crappy no trespassing signs, one shot with a 12 gauge and the sign would be history. looks like there from a 99 cent store. I'm sure someone will blast them all the others that were located around the Dam were blasted and are unreadable i expect it to happen since the area is used buy allot of people for Motocross. The Dirt bike riders will probably mow most of them down with there dirt bikes. People don't really have a high regard around here for doing the right thing its a hick town with allot of outlaws.

But the signs didn't say violators will be prosecuted. Still it's only right to ask the owner for permission anyway. at least if i get approval of the owner i wont be breaking the law and violating any AMA Rules. And i can go out there and fly and not have to worry about it.

But i'm still going to look for a new place to fly i want to fly my Twist 150 tired of waiting i want to see Magoo in action.

APC 17x6.

Only a little sanding down of the cheek for throttle arm clearance. I used a drill with a sanding bit. It was tight but fairly easy. I also drilled a small hole for needle valve adjustment and stuck a piece of fuel tubing on the end of the adjustment and out the side of the other cheek.

Wow! What a tight fit! Are you gonna trim that tubing down some on the side? I'm a big Saito fan so I think you made the right brand choice....

It's a beautiful thing. As much engine as I could fit inside the cheeks.

That is the end of the tubing you see in the picture. I suppose I could trim it down, but I've flown as is. The sound is cool and the power is awesome.

Ok its right side up now...I think I like the looks better too. Thanks to all of the brotherhood for the 2 cents about an inverted glow motor, I would not want my 150 to be in a small box to use when something is caught in your teeth. Thanks!

Yep,I have one with Perry carb and Pitts muffler in old Heavy Ultra Stic. Tons of power but I think it would take a one quart fuel tank to get 15min flight.

Well it came in the mail today. You guys didn't tell me it is practically RTF, even the engine mount and fuel tank is already installed.

It had a hole in the side of the box (look like someone stabbed it with a broom stick) -- all the way through both layers but did not touch anything inside; I was lucky.

Winter has set in here in West Virginia. We had our 1st significant snow in the last couple of days and the temperature is well below freezing so I don't know when I'll be able to maiden her. I will complete the assembly this weekend and get some pics on this thread.
