hey there fellow flyers
does anyone actually own one of these planes, everyone seems to bag them but i don't think alot of people own one, if so any probs? the only prob i have had with mine is loose clevises.
are there any problems i need to look out for so i can prevent them before they happen
thanks Daren

I've heard the pro and cons for months before I ever ordered mine. I talked a few times with Kelsey who works for VMAR.
We both know that a lot of bad rap is received, but we never know till we do it ourselves.
After some time and thought I order the 540 Edge. It arrived and man, what a beauty.I put it together and with not many problems really. I'll admit I was afraid to fly it after all the bad rap.It set in the garage for a month before I was brave enough to take it to the field. I was scared of it when I got it to the field so ask one of the experts to fly it. He had some problems with.Mainly way too much elevator so he got it down and we adjusted the amount of travel.Took it up again and it was much better. After I saw that it would fly I wasn't as afraid of it,so I'm now flying it when I get a chance and it's growing on me...I like the plane a lot and altho it's not perfect,I still enjoy it.
The only bad rap that was tru was the covering....I took it to the field on a sunny day at 73 degress weather. It set in the sun for about 30 minutes and the covering almost completely let loose from the wood.It looked a mess. After getting it back home in the garage out of the sun,the covering smoothed out..If there's one big problem with mine it's the covering. It's handles well and fun to fly. I fly it on low rates for the elevator and ailerons. I think both are set on about45 percent travel and that's plenty. I fly with a OS 70 4S,which was also a concern being that the 70 is the low end of the power recommended. The 70 is plenty and it does what I want it to do.
All in all,I like the plane and would buy another. No ARF is perfect so the next thing to look for is the price tag..The price is rite also, for what you get. This is just my opinion and there's still alot of guys that don't like em'...For the flying I do,I'm comfy with it.
Hope this helps a tad.....Good luck..Walt
