I looked at the pict. but that is all I know about the plane.....
the price and that fct that Towerhas great shipping rates, or lack of shipping charge.... 25 off and the retracts, will make this a attractive offer for some...
Throw a 51 ST with a tuned pipe and you should have a plane that is fun to fly and is a fun-fly- stand off sclae to boot....
I do know that they cover in H9 oracote
the hardwere will all be metric and you will want to uprade it....
The other thing to wonder about is the retracts..... Will they hold up?
At least they have tried to do so... I have no idea what there wood work is like and if it is quality or not.....
I do know that you may be better off with a CMpro spitfire from Nitromodels.com.. These have fiberglass fuses and look faily good...

And all ARF's are made in china (for the most part) Seagull models are made in Veitnam...

If it helps any, I have a Phoenix Models Decathlon. Its very heavy but; the build is solid, the covering is good, and the plane flys extremely well. [8D]

We have a genuine interest. And it's that new airplanes that could look somewhat correct, did. It would not have cost the mfg one penny more to do a correct canopy instead of a cartoon one.

If a mfg either doesn't know how to make the canopy of a "scale" airplane look like the canopy of the fullscale, then what else does he not know how to do?

You only want to hear good things to make your choices from?

At least the cowl looks somewhat scale...

The H9 Spitfire cowl is Y-UGLY.... and what happened to the machine guns on this bird?

What worries me about this model is the advertised weight. 6 to 6.3 pounds is not light for a 40size model. Since this one is a standoff scale, you'd expect better than average flight characteristics, not less.

Ive seen the Phoenix Decathlon A very nice looking plane built very well the spitfire should be just as nice ! picture looks good Ill bet the plane is better than the picture my mustang was keep us posted!!!

thanks !my kids are starting to fly my son 14 soloed 2 weeks ago nextar . this week typhoon 2 the warbirds on hold for now [&o] the fun I am have with my kids is well worth it

i wonder if that guy thought the prop would cut a path thru the grass during the take-off run

I just finished mine lately with a Saito 72 for power. I flew it yesterday and it performed very well. The 72 made it slightly nose heavy but it was still ok. I had to use a Sig spinner since the one "Phoenix" supplies is junk. The screws won't thread into it properly. Another thing you will want to do is throw away the tailwheel bracked they give you - the wire will break after about 5 flights. The Vietnamese must use real brittle wire because the one on my Decathlon also broke. Setting the airleron throws at 9mm instead of the recommended 12mm made mine more stable. It tracks fairly well and if you make your final approach while landing at about 1/4 throttle then reduce to idle just as you get over the runway, it sets down really nice on it's main gear. The re-tracts seem to be pretty strong as I made a few hard landings while getting used to it and they did not have to be tweeked. Overall, this is a pretty good ARF warbird for the money.

i have had two phoenix models and liked them both. they are pretty good arfs for the money.they are popular with several people in our flying group. i was going to get that spitfire but decided not to because i've got so many planes now i trip over them in my storage room. i had their suhkoi. nice flying plane but it does not like slow to medium tight turns....i found out the hard way!

What kind of covering is being used on Spitfire? Looking at new 95 inch Spitfire coming out in August to Tower. Does anyone have any more info then what is posted so far?
