From: cincinnati, OH,
I am assembling a Showtime and attempting to use one of the hangar 9 recommended engines ,'Evolution 100', but have run into problems. I can't fit the standard muffler as it fouls the fuse and would require a min 3/4" extension to clear. The assembly manual has great detail on installing this and other engine but omits anything about a mufflers except for a reminder to fit a pressure line. I've rotated the engine all round the clock and only upright, with everything hanging out on the breeze, can the standard muffler be used. But what an ugly sight that would be.
Another option may be to carve away a large portion of the fuse front.
I've contacted hangar 9 and am still awaiting a response.
I've also read a couple of reviews, but both used 4 str engines and were able to carve a hole large enough for the mufflers.
My question are-
Has anyone installed an Evo 100 in this plane and what muffler arrangement did you use
Anyone know of the availability of exhaust extensions suitable for this engine. The OS ones are too thin a wall.
Anyone know of a suitable pitts style muffler for this engine.
