WAS JUST NOTIFIED BY KMP THAT THE CG LISTED @ 133MM FROM LEADING EDGE SHOULD BE 95MM FROM LEADING EDGE. JUST ABOUT READY TO FLY THIS BIRD. GOT OS 120 PUMPED UP FRONT AND CORLESS FUTABA SERVOS THROUGHOUT. REAL NICE ARF, ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS ARE ALOT TO BE DESIRED, REALLY VAGUE ABOUT MEASUREMENTS AND CERTAIN INSTALLATION TECHNIQUES. LANDING GEAR IS QUESTIONABLE, SEEMS TO ME THAT IT IS A LITTLE WEAK. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUILT OUT OF SOMETHING A LITTLE STRONGER. INSTRUCTIONS LOOK LIKE THEY COME FROM THE WORLD MODEL LINES.
JUST SOME FYI FOR THOSE WHO BOUGHT THEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF CG CHANGE...........

Hi-
We testflew the Gee Bee on Sunday - 120FS up front and CG at 133mm as per the original manual (although we couldn't really believe it should be so far back we took the chance...)
The model turned out to be very tail heavy and unstable, hardly did respond to elevator or rudder . We wobbled one round and managed to land it undamaged more or less only by use of throttle.
We'll shift weight forward at least to 95mm from leading edge - probably have to add some lead on firewall also - and try again. No reason it shouldn't fly well once correctly balanced!
The ESM Gee Bee is really beautiful and got lots of attention at the field.

Budman,
Thanks for the photos and info on the Gee Bee. Did you have to add much weight after all? And does this plane rip through the air or would it be better with like a 1.5 4s?
thanks for the info

I've got one and had serious issues with the landing gear, the spring allowed too much flex and caused the wheel to hit the wheel pant on take off, acting like a break and causing the plane to flip over and destroy the wheel pants.Been waiting on part now for awhile.I'm not sure if I'll ever get it back in the air.I'm a little dissapointed,it is such a great looking airplane.
