Hey guys,
I just got back from Kangke (I'm lucky enough to work within driving distance at lunchtime from them
I've had a problem with the tube vibrating out of my pitts muffler (I'm on my third - this one actually had a little help on a deadsick landing) and I lost the needle valve on the Tiger shark last time.
He told me I should try to plug a tube for more muffler pressure (needle valve response) and switch from a 13-8 prop to a 15-6. This seems big for a .91 but they say it needs one. What do you all think?
BTW, Kangke kicks right now. I got a new pits muffler and a complete new carburetor for FREE. That Laser 2000 is looking better and better - Or Texas Hurricane... Decisions, Decisions...

Rick, How much does your Cap weigh?
If you still have the other Pitts mufflers scuff up the area where the tube meets the main body and JB weld it. Be sure to thoroughly clean it first with alcohol. I've custom made some in-cowl muffs with JB and it holds well. Use it liberally though.
I've got a 16X6 Zinger on my 1.08 so a 15X6 on a .91 sounds about right.

I have the kangke cap like yours with the TS .91 love how the plane flies. It has little wing rock during a harrier and walking the dog but it needs no correction. unfortunatly the motor hovers the plane at full throttle. I run a zinger 15x6 and it has plenty of power for walking around but you put it vertical and watch out! the plane torque rolls fast but ifeel comfortable with it to do it low even at around full throttle. it easily flies out with no altitude loss. I have some nice pics of it low and slow in a harrier but i gotta find um and a video of mine doing the IMAC basic perfectly. IT also does and INCREDIBLE lumchivak.

Hey Gang,
It doesn't matter much now. I forgot to reset the TX program to the cap this Sat and all hell broke loose when I got off the ground. Needless to say, she didn't make it LOL. Darn fool mistake, it was a nice plane, I'd buy another in a heart beat, but the Giles is almoooost ready.

Ooooh thats not good Rick, on my Kangke Cap, the very 1st flight I had the ailerons reversed, but fortunately got it back down with minimal damage to the cowl, now it flies great. Sorry to hear of your loss. At the least I'm sure you learned something about double checking your tx settings. I know you will make sure this doesnt happen to your 1/4 Giles. Daz...

I am setting up my 1.20 size Cap. I will be using a Saito 1.8 The Instructions call for the distance from firewall to thrust washer of 7-7 -3/4 inches I will be using 7 inches because thats about all I can get with my motor mount, does that sound about right for what you used? Any other problems?
