Put a new TT 46 on mine....very nimble very quick, unlimited vertical, 3 yr warranty, quality engine at $69 (National Hobby).
I have owned about 12 TT's over the last 6 years and there always user friendly from the start.

If you want more help then you should specify some parameters, cost, weight, power, user friendliness, etc. Other than that there are many good .46-.58 two cycle engines out there. Any will do -- pick the brand that you are most comfortable with.
There are fewer 4 stroke choices, but once again there are several good choices in the .52 to .72 range. Pick whichever brand you are most comforable.
Regardless of your choice you will need taller landing gear. The engines in the sizes I have mentioned all work best with a 12", or longer, props. The stock SE gear will not allow you to swing much more than an 11.5" prop. Tnt Landing gear has a taller gear for the SE.
Cheers!

YS 63. I guaruntee you won't be hurting for power. I have seen them fly with this engine and it is a good combination. I have the 63 on a su-do-khoi, and it will excellerate out of a hover like mad. Just my thoughts!

I would just about bet the YS 63 will whip any 70-80 size 4- stroke out there, (maybe even some of the 90 size as well) plus they are relatively light. I am thinking of getting another one for the GP Ultimate? They are great engines.

i put a os 70 surpass in my SE, thought havent flown it yet, for a 4-stroke i would go with a ys 63 also, i just happened to have this engine lying around to use... or i would've gone with a ys 63, for a 2-stroke a ys 45 would be sweet! it has a pressurized fuel pump which keeps fuel running consistenly!

I had the os 46 fx on mine and it wouldn't hover. My freind also had one with a TT pro 46 on his and it wouldn't hover either. They fly pretty good with these engines but they won't go balistic like they will with the 63. I did see one fly on a 72 saito and it did a pretty good job also. The kid flying with the saito had no problem hanging it up.

I put an Irvine 53 on mine and I havent regreated it a bit I have unlimted Verticle I can hover at 1/2 throttle and still have some left over to get me out of trouble. One fine engine and the price is right too.(IMO)

I like my OS46 Fx on the SE now that it's breaking in. I hover with an 11-5 APC, but have little vertical pull out. from hover. Never a flameout after 1 gallon of fuel. The rear needle valve makes plumbing a hassle in this plane. I had to mount a fuel filler valve to the bottom of the fuselage directly under the engine.
