Hello everyone,
I fly a cap 580 from great planes with an os 61fx (pitts muffler) and i am having problems with the engine, as it seems to overheat and burn glow plugs. I use an apc 13*4 and i know a lot of you use this prop as well, so i was wondering how your engine runs with this plane prop combo. Do you experience any overheating problem? Foaming of fuel in the tank? limited pressure to the tank due to the pitts style muffler? or overheating due to the cowling? The reason why i am asking these questions is because i was told these are possible issues that would cause my engine to run lean and overheat. Also, how fast do you run your 61fx with the 13*4? I can achieve 12,600 but I richen it up a lot and go down to 12,000 to 12,100 max otherwise it would overheat dramatically. I feel that i am running the engine too rich so it doesnt run as smooth as it can and i think the engine is more capable than 12,000 rpm with this prop.
Thank you
