Better, H9 P40 or Hellcat?
I would like some honest opinions from someone(s) who's seen and flown both. I'm looking at one or the other. Both look just as good to me, and I like the history of both types of aircraft. Looking to get one to fly with my other warbird buddies at the field. They don't have either one right now...
Thanks!

RE: Better, H9 P40 or Hellcat?
Look at the p47 or the spitfire. I have seen to many people with the p40 have trouble with the rotating landing gear. The spit is a better handling plane probably as a result of being sleeker and cutting through the air better than the p47. However the p47 is a beautiful plane when flying. Stay away from the corsair its a beautiful plane but you would have the same problem with the rotating retracts. I have seen the hellcat fly but i dont think it handles as well as the spit or the p47 . Hope that helps.

I have Modeltech P47 and its a very nice flyer. The prices have changed recently and now the H9 version is pretty much the same price. I had to replace the tail wheel assembly and now the main landing gear, other than that, no problems. [8D]

I've seen the P-40 in person and it has a very glossy finish to the camo covering. It's as if they built a pretty nice airframe then just totally missed on the choice of covering materials and said "oh well" and pushed it out the door.

I've owned the Hellcat and although it flys very nice the retracts are such a pain that I sold the bird. Constant issues with those rotating retracts. All those H9 60 size birds have weak retracts in my opinion. Get a set or Robart replacements and you'll be much happier.
