Hey guys I have a decision to make that is driving me crazy. I will explain it and please give me your thoughts. Might be a bit long...
The lanes I have now...
Hangar 9 Twist 3D 60 with a saito FA 1.25 (this engine is a freaking ANIMAL) swinging apc 17x4
Aero Sport 60 extra 300S (from AK-Models) with a older 90's OS .91 max swinging a apc 14x8 (trust me the best pro for this plane. I have tried a 14x6 and a 15x4. The 14x6 spun to fast the 15x4 it wants to wing over really violently on hard circles. The extra is extremely nose heavy and I had to add around 86 grams of tail weight. 34 grams is a heavy tail wheel. Flys pretty decent with the 14x8.
(My Fav) Seagull Model Edge 540.. Has a supertiger .75 with pitts style in cowl muffler. (UNDEROWERED) swinging a 13x4. Have not tried a different prop. This plane flies very smoothly and I enjoy it alot. It just needs more power. But I want to keep the neat look of the muffler in the cowl.
A viper as well. But i know where that is going.
I was thinking of putting the FA125 on the Seagull edge 540 but it is a wicked 3D machine with that engine.
Then I was thinking of putting the .91 from the extra in the edge but it is a bit old. Heavier than the newer .91s' as well.
If I took the .91 off the extra I would remove all the extra weight from the tail of it and put the .75 supertiger on. That might be an ok match. Maybe...?
The kicker is I am going to pick up a complete kit version aeroworks 31% Edge 540T with a a zdz 80cc any day now; different beast but is stearing me away from taking the 1.25 out of the twist and into the seagull edge.
I don't know. Which is why I am rambling it on here.

Make the switch. The 125 into the Edge, and the .75 into the Extra. Should make each of those planes more fun to fly. You are going to love the Aerowerks Edge.

Well that helps a bit. Someone else thinks the 125 should go to the edge. It is a seagull model edge though not the aeroworks.
the extra is a aerosport model, i think. Came from ak-moels. But it has way to much dead weight.
So the old .91 max would do in the Twist 3D 60 or should I just buy a new .91 that is not so heavy?

Switch 'em. I had one airframe that I swapped out with four engines until I got the right marriage. Part of the fun of R/C is experimenting with the configurations. Like you already seem to be doing I swap props in incremental steps to see what it does for the handling and performance.
It's like tailoring a suit to fit you. A particular engine may fit a plane, but they both have to fit your moods and techniques.

I have a Seagull Edge 540 that was powered with a YS91. Motor had some trouble so I replaced the 91 with a YS 110. Great combo. Plane flew good with the YS 91 but really perked up with the YS 110.

well the saito fa 125 is installed and ready to go for the morning. Gonna swing a 17x4 and see if it will hang on the prop.
Putting the suer tiger .75 in the hangar 9 twist 3D. Just have to wait for a new muffler because the gay canister style one it came with will not work with the twist 60
