HERE ARE A FEW PICS OF FIRST FLIGHTS. REALLY FLYS WELL, NO BAD HABITS WHATSOEVER, IN AIR OR ON TAKEOFFS. ONLY PROBLEM IS WEAK LANDING GEAR, WHICH I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY ARE COMING OUT WITH A HEAVIER DUTY GEAR. 2ND LANDING IT NOSED OVER DUE TO WHEELS GETTING INTO WHELPANTS AND FLIPPING IT OVER. FEW SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE, BUT ABOUT A 30 MIN FIX. KNIFEEDGES WITH LITERALLY NO RUDDER INPUT, ADD RUDDER AND IT GOES STRAIGHT UP TO A KNIFE EDGE LOOP. I HAVE A OS 120 PUMPED MOTOR WITH A 15X8 APC PROP. HERE ARE SOME PICS..............

ON THE 6TH FLIGHT THIS WEEKEND I HAD A GUY TURN HIS RADIO ON WHILE I WAS SHOOTING APPROACHES. I DID THE WHOLE ADVANCED IMAC MANUEVERS IN ABOUT 1000 FEET ALL AT AN ALTITUDE OF 10 FEET AND BELOW. NEVER HIT THE GROUND, BUT DAMN CLOSE A COUPLE OF TIMES. AFTER HE REALIZED HE WAS ON MY CHANNEL, AFTER ALL MY WHOOPING AND HOLLERIN', HE FINALLY TURNED OFF AND I REGAINED MY COMPOSER AND LANDED. AFTERWARDS HE APOLOGIZED TO NO END. HE IS A GENTLEMAN I HAVE FLOWN WITH FOR YEARS. HE COME OUT WITH A NEW PLANE ON A DIFFERENT CHANNEL THAN HE NORMALLY USES AND DID NOT REALIZE IT. I TOLD HIM THAT THE GB WAS HARD ENOUGH TO FLY WITHOUT HIM TRYING TO HELP ME OUT. ALL IN ALL THE DAY ENDED WELL WITH A COUPLE MORE FLIGHTS OF THE GEE BEE.
THOUGHT SOME OF YOU MIGHT GET A KICK OUT OF THIS.......

how is your straight line speed with the 120??
how did the plane balance with that engine??
can you give me an idea of what gear you used??
if you have some time i would like to talk to you on the phone about the plane as i'm hoping to get one in the next shipment in june.
thanks,
tony

BudMan just wondering what you did with the landing gear? Mine came with the larger wire so didn't match the instructions and had to enlarge the holes... but the quality was poor and they were not bent right. I tried to bend them and one broke. Do you know of anyone making a strut for them... Or after market upgreade? Thanks

The angle of the landing gear is rediculas...I'm going to change the angle and use Robarts to soften the shock to that area... In the air it is fine... Just the landing... Will take plenty of time and wing and Ground balance as bet I can. I have been looking at the Great Planes version and The quality of the glass work, even the wings being balsa built up... Well I live in upstate NY so I have some time till spring...
