Default GP giant super sportster landing gear block

I have read several post that said the landing gear block failed in side the wing of the giant super sportster and was just wondering which failed on yours? Mine was the starboard outside

Sorry mate
but
i don't think GreatPlanes makes 2 versions with the one you mentioned :starboard trim scheme!

I searched Tower but not.
Mine is the "standar" one with the white-red trim.

No problems here yet (knock on wood)

Another "Hidden Wonder" from an ARF!

I find all hardwood LG blocks need work. Their 90 degree/sharp inner hole edge should be re-worked to accommodate the natural arc of the wire gear. Work any other areas so that the gear presses in, all the way home, via a snug fit.

A correct pilot hole for the mounting strap screw is key also. Choose a drill bit which is the same diameter as the shank/un-threaded portion of the screw. Drill to full length of the screw. Clean out the drillings. Use bar soap as lubricant during assembly. Check for tightness every so often.

I moved my gear from the wing to the fuse and haven't had any problems, real easy to do and the landing gear from my old funtana 90 worked great. I flew this plane yesterday and I enjoy it more everytime i fly it.
