Default RV4 1/4 scale wing mounting...

Hi, I see that the big version of the RV4 is a midwing and was wondering if the !/4 scale RV4 has removable wings or is it permanently attached to the fuselage??

If you're asking about the GP RV4 - yes, the wing is removeable. It's in 2 pieces that attach to the side of the fuselage and is secured from the inside with 4 bolts.

It uses two 1/4-20 nylon screws per wing panel.

No it doesn't have 2 screws per wing panel!

It has only one Nylon screw and 2 anti-rotation pins per wing panel. I just finished mine.

OOPS, my bad. I replied to the thread at work.[X(] You are correct, two anti rotaion pins, and 1 nylon thum screw per panel. I do not know how someone would not under stand it by just looking at it. From my own experience all last summer, I hope you have small fingers, because it is a pain in the arse to get your hands down under the rudder pushrod to install the screw.

Motorman,

Thumbscrew access is not an issue with mine. I used the rear servo tray location because of the heavy Magnum 160 twin engine I used.

I started out with a Magnum .91 2C, switched to Magnum .91 4C. Am now considering dropping in one of my YS 1.10S'S. Luckily for me, they all take the same mount. I have two cowls. I can switch from 2C to 4C in 1/2 hour.

No it will actually fly pretty fast with a 91 2 stroke. Guys have been putting them in becuase they didn't like the scale speed of a 4 stroke.

The .91 2c flew it very unrealisticly. With a 15-6 it had nearly unlimited vertical from take off. The .91 flys very realisticly though. The take off is actually faster with the fourstroke 10', due to the superior throttle responce of the fourstroke vs/ 15 ' for the two stroke (clean out from idleing). The four stroke can climb at 60 degrees from take off were the two stroke climbes out about 75 degree's. My 1.10 should climb out at 90 degree's though and sound right doing it with a scale prop 16-6. I am just not a two stroke guy.
