Default Which is best? V Tail or Regular Tail?

I am still pretty new to this RC flying thing. My first plane is a V tail, but I see lots of regular tail planes as well. Is one better than the other?

V tails seem to be very popular with gliders. Is there a reason for this?

V-tails are popular with Gliders, and Pylon Racing planes. The main advantage is less drag.

For sport flying, I would recommend a standard tail. Its a bit tricky building V-tail planes perfectly, and you would see little if NO benefit in a sport plane.
