Default Mounting engine to vmar chipmunk

I am building a Vmar chipmunk, low wing semi scale plane with a cowl, and have run into something that I have never seen before, no predrilled engine mounts!!! What do I do? It looks like I should mount the engine upsidedown to make the cowl fit the best, but I don't want to cover up the beautiful Saito golden Knight .50 engine and I don't like the way the engine runs upside down. What are the limits of mounting the engine either sideways or rightside up other than in will stick out of the cowl? Also, how do I calculate the center line and how do I setup right thrust?

Thanks in advance,

Chris
