I purchased a edge 540 1.20 size and was wondering if it would take a gas engine or would that be to heavy. Or would I be better off going with a 2 stroke 1.40 size.
thanks

Get a OS 160. It's about $250 and weighs 2 lbs and will accelerate your plane vertically. Slimline pitts and Perry pump will round out the power plant and will turn most 18x8 props over 8400 rpms. These also sip fuel for their size. About 12-14 oz standard 15% for a 10 min flight. Oh... once pumped its turned out to be the nicest running engine I own.

I have the same combo as h82crash. O.S. 1.60, perry pump, pitts muffler, all on a Creek hobbies Edge 540. Came in at 12 lbs. Completely unlimited. A great combo.

Is it a Lanier ARF? If it is, and you put the elevator servos in the tail, you're going to end up putting lead in the nose whether you go gas or glow.

moki 180 or 210 and you wont be sorry
And why would anyone commit to a location of servos in the tail and possibly adding lead before making sure the CG is right?
