I purchased a Yellow Sukhoi 120 arf a few months ago. I have a 170 radial engine to use in it. Any body used this combo. I love the sweet sound of the saito radials.
Thanks in advance

My friend just put the first flights on his thie weekend and it looks great. A very foregiving airplane, he just soloed 3 weeks ago wnd this is his third plane (ugly stick trainer and a World T-34)
The Sukhoi has a Saito 180 in it and a beautiful glass cowl and all the louvers are functional.
Keep in mind, if you put a pilot in it it must be semi reclined not sitting straight up.

There was a review of the Yellow ARF about 6-8 months ago and the fellow used a Saito 170 radial with excellent results. (Atleast I think it was MAN that had the article...it's not listed in the review section of the website...which is because it was an article/review....).
I'm about to fly the same plane but with a Saito 180 (and TME smoke system). I'll post video in a month or so.

Yeah, I had that combo. While it flew fine and sounded great, it's really not the right engine for the Sukhoi. On 30% nitro I could do most scale manuovers okay, but vertical suffered. I eventually replace the Saito with an OS 160 and to quote Austin Powers,"YEA BABY". While it didn't sound the same performance was incredible. I was able to balance the plane with both engines by just moving the battery pack around. I sold it to a buddy who is a Sukhoi fanatic and I am really starting to miss it.
