............ a Storch...........Since none of those are likely as ARFs, we'll just have to settle for a few more Cubs and P51s.
I agree that there are alot of cubs out there, but there aren't any Super Cubs. A lot of us have fond memories of working with the full size cub's and that's probably why a lot of people relate to them. They also are fun to fly on floats and skis. Just a good all around plane to have in the hanger when you need a break from the usual aerobatics. They are relaxing to fly, but also challenging to fly nicely. I have given the sticks to people that think the cub is boring and they are suprised at how much concentration it takes to fly it nice and coordinated. If you can make a roll look good in a cub without radio mixing, then you are truely a good pilot in my books.
Cermark - In addition to tundra tires it would be sweet if we could buy aftermarket droop wing tips and vortex generators. Scale floats would be sweet too, but they are going to be availble through Hanger 9 shortly.

I'll have to agree that the Mustang and J3 Cub are among the most common planes, along with Corsairs, P-40s, Thunderbolts, and Helldivers. The quantity of Lancairs, Sukois, Yaks, Caps, and Edges has seriously undermined my interest in those planes too. I have seen so many turbine jets that everybody else owns, I just get tired of seeing them. Ag wagons and Pawnees? One day, I'm sure those will outnumber J3s and Mustangs, so I doubt if I'll add one of those to my collection. One thing I can say that's good about the plane that "everybody must have in their hangar": They sell very well. And why not? Everybody wants one so that's what I buy if I want to stay in the hobby, like all the rest of the Joe Six Packs.
I like the idea of a Super Cub in that it has an actual cowl and just looks better. An added bonus: Over the years that I have visited fields and been involved in this hobby, I don't think I have ever seen one! Amazing. Congrats to Cermark on their choice of taking one of the most commonly seen planes and making it something special. It would be especially nice if a larger variety of color schemes were offered. How about the possibility of a Tri-Pacer? And There are many other scale planes that are rarely, if ever, seen at the local club. Decathlons, Citabrias, Cessna 152s, Piper Warriors, arrows, cherokees, Beech Sport 150s and Skippers, Piper Tomahawks, and quite a few others are there to discover. May you have the best of luck getting all this back on track.

I would love to see a lot of those too. If you love the Storch (the original bush plane!!!!) check out the new BMI / Vmar 19500mm Storch. It's not the greatest of arf's, but it's the best/biggest Storch arf out there that I know of. I just did a mini-reveiw of it on another site under the same user name.

I concede defeat on the Storch. I once had one, well detailed, with about a 12 ft. wingspan. I've sort of gone off it though in favor of the Kobiseiko GO60.
As for the Cubs, it is nice to see the CErmark PA18 returning. A while agao, Adrian Page had a nice PA18 at about 1/5 scale and brought out an electric version. Sadly, they are no more.
If you can still get a copy, about 15-20 years ago Charlie Richard drew up plans for a very nice, well detailed 1/3 size PA18. And if you still want a J-3 with a couwl, why not do a PA11? A lot of guys think just plonking a cowl onto a J-3 makes it a PA18. Not so, it's closer to the PA11. I believe there's still a 1/4 size PA11 plan available from Jim Pepino's plasn service.
Unfortunately, none of these ar ARF. You gotta build.

FWI, Adrian just did a run of his kits for those of us that bugged him enough on another rc site/group. He may be able to be persuaded into another run in the future. I was lucky enough to get one just before he stopped the first time and I am about half way through the build. I need a larger one though, with floats!

When I found out about all of this stuff, I just simply freaked!! I have a DP extra 330L and it is by far my favorite plane. I have always wanted one of his super cubs and now I may be able to get one. Yes, the J-3 is over modeled but who cares (except for a few opinionated CB) but the super cub is not - Very rare for an arf. Unless you want a little foamy the only super cub on the market now is made by model tech out of Hobby People and it is not even available yet.
I am self employed too and know how hard it is to make everyone happy all the time. Running a buisiness is very hard. Hopefully, You Dave Patrick, are doing well now and can provide us with your outstanding models in the future and thanks Cermark for taking on this venture.

It still remains to be seen if Cermark is doing anything with Dave Patrick. At this point, the plan must be to keep everyone in the dark as long as possible and then surprise us someday.

The patrick Cubs were covered with Ultracote which is sold by Horizon Hobby. I would look there first to get your paint as they should have it to match their covering. You can order direct online from them or check your local hobby shop.
All hobby paint manufacturers have a different rendition of Cub yellow, so your best bet would be Horizon for a good match.

OOPS!
In that case, I am sorry for the misinformation. I still have a cupboard full of K&B epoxy paint that I use. Usually I mix my own color to match whatever I'm doing.
So, maybe someone else has a solution.

You might want to try this site. you'll have to spray it from a gun of some sort but his paints are supposed to be good.

I just thought of something. If you have an automotive paint supply store in your town, (they supply paint to the body & fender shops) take a sample in and they can read or scan it in to their computer and mix you a can. They can put it in a rattle can for you too. My little town here has the technology, so most places should be able to do it.
See if this helps,
