Hey guys,
I have a new DP Ultimate (not the 40) coming and I am having trouble deciding which engine to buy. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

I am presently building one. Called DP and talked to Dave. Told him I wanted to put a Moki 1.8 on it. He almost fell out of hi chair. After talking a while, and stating I wanted to stay 2 stroke, he recomended either OS 160 or the Moki 1.35. I went with the Moki. Since I really like my other one. In 4 stroke he likes YS 120. Don't know if this helps or not. I would think alot depends on what you already have.

The OS 160 is a major consideration as is Saito 150 or 180. I am leaning towards the Saito but am unsure between the 150 and 180. Four strokes work real good on bipes! Thanks for your post.

Put the Moki 1.8 or the 2.1 in it. The O.S. 1.60 FX and the Moki 1.35 are both great engines. I had both the Moki 1.35 and the 1.8 available when I put mine together and went with the 1.35 first. I thought the plane flew fine until a friend showed up with a Moki 2.1 stuffed in his. After letting me fly his plane I went home and put in the 1.8 which made a considerable difference. If I were going to purchase a engine for this airplane it would be the Moki 2.1 and I would never worry about power.

Have a Saito 180 here in the DP, haven't had too much time with it but go with the 180 over the 150, I have the 150 in a Goldberg Ultimate and the Patrick is bigger

I have this plane and have flown it with the OS 160 and the Saito 180. The plane will handle the 180 just fine. The 180 is lighter and more powerful than the 150. This is one of my favorite planes and would recommend ot to anyone who is interested in a Bipe.

I have the OS 160 2 stroke on mine with Zinger pro 18x8, Bisson Pitts muffler and it is awesome....unlimited vertical, great tork rolls, OS has a real winner with this engine..very user friendly and also not as costly as the 4 strokes...just my 2 cents

When I had the OS on it I had to butcher the cowl for the bisson muffler. The Saito 1.80 will give you a cleaner install. I also prefered the Saito in this plane, The OS wasn't bad but I like the torque of the Saito. I was able to get more verticle with the Saito.

A fellow club member at the field has a YS120 installed. It is awesome; he seldom flies it full throttle and it still gives him unlimited vertical. Mind you his YS is noisy but sounds cool since he does not use a muffler; not something I would do.

You sold your Extra and bought a Ultimate????
I had the 1.60 on mine. I used the standard muffler. Worked like a champ....
Great combo. Just didn't like putting it together....
