Filling ARF hinge slots and using Robarts?

I have a new ARF Yak that came with flat pin type hinges but i'm not too happy with the accuracy of the hinge slots. Most of the hinge slots are cut too sloppy and would need a lotr of glue just to fill the slots. I'm also not impressed with the the huge gap that they leave.
I want to use Robart Pin Hinges instead.
Is there any prefered teqnique to do this?
Should i fill the existing slots with something and then re-drill the filled glued area for the Robarts, or should i put the Robarts between the existing hinge slots.

I have just drilled in the middle of the existing slots and installed the robart hingepoints with gorilla glue. It expands and fills the slot and glues the hingepoint in as well. Haven't had any fail so far. Good luck.

I have done the same, but I used epoxy. There's no need to "Fill" the slots. Just having a pin glued into its center is enough.
But if you DO want to fill it, don't fill first, then drill for the pinned hinge. That will create a hard spot in the center which will make drilling difficult. The drill will want to "wander" away from the hard glue in favor of the soft balsa.
