I am trying to Balence my Richmodel Spitfire and, if I use my fingers it shows perfect, if I try the machine shows way way nose heavy, how accurate is this thing?

I did balance inverted. This is my first time using this device, have 2 other planes (h9 pulse xt 40 and electristar)
that I fly and always just used fingers.

i must admit i still use the fingers for balance and all models seem to work out fine c.o.g. wise but i would say the balancer would have to be abit more accurate as you can set the exact distance plus the small nipples on the rods would be better than say a fat finger that may be curled to take the weight of the model. try your finger test of cog with the fingers dead straight like pencils and see if theres any difference between the two methods.

I've found that on the GP CG Machine, you want it to be a bit nose heavy. Pretty much to where you can let the plane sit there hands off, but still leaning towards the nose. I balanced my Hangar 9 P-51 Mustang PTS to where it would sit level hands off. It had no fuel in the tank, and was inverted on the CG Machine. When I went to fly it, it flew very tail heavy and I could not put in enough down elevator to compensate. I'm a noob to airplanes, so take my experience w/ a grain of salt.
