Hey Guys,

I don't know how many of you out there have a Hanger9 Pizzaz. There are certainly a lot of good ARFs out there, but this one has to be close to the top of the list for being well-built, affordable, easy-to-repair/replace, will tolerate a range of engines, and will tolerate a lot of abuse, and will do almost anything you ask it to. In addition, I am certain that Hanger9/Horizon has sold a bunch of them and has/is making a good profit...even in the face of a rising number of similar planes.

I am told that the Pizzaz is slated to be discontinued sometime soon, and I think this is crazy.......just wondering if others feel the same way, and if so, email Horizon and let them know. Maybe if enough people express their opinion, they might decide to keep making them for a while longer. This plane has a good following and I think there are probably many guys that would like for them to keep being manufactured........at least long enough to stock up. Stiks of various kinds (ugly, big, ultra, etc) used to be popular and then fell by the wayside several years ago.....and in recent years almost every ARF manufacturer started to offer one again. My guess is that if nobody tries to get Hanger9 to keep making them, the Pizzaz may suffer the same fate....and be gone from our fields for a while.......or maybe forever.

Just my 2-cents.

If true it sounds like something H9 would do. I'm surprised they stopped making their Extra and Cap, considering how good they are.

I wonder if it is because they 'contract' for xxxx number of units at a given price...maybe if they renew that same contract for xx units, there isn't enough profit to be made....just some thoughts off the top of the head.....any MBA's out there want to comment?

<<...enough profit to be made...>>

There it is right there, Jerry.

The bean counters are firmly in control at Horizon. At least The Empire keeps a model around for a year or two, even if it doesn't sell like hotcakes.

It seems pretty simple.

Hangar 9 caters to the ARF crowd. The arf crowd easily falls into the "I want it now" category, and gets bored quickly...demanding new and different toys!

Marketing 101 says to sell, the product must be desired by the consumer. So, to satisfy a customer that gets bored quickly, and "wants it now," they change the product line on what seems to be a regularly rotation!

or so it appears to me.

Bummer, this is one of my favorite planes. Does anybody know where you can buy them for $99? I saw a few places, but can't locate them.

I was at Sheldons Hobbys the other day, and they had the Pizazz, and Supper Sticks for $99. You'll probably have to call them to get that price!
