Default Canopy Swap - How to Remove Old Glue?

I crack a canopy on one of my planes. I pulled it off to replace it and have a ring of dried canopy glue on the fuslage. Is there something that will remove it so I can start fresh with the new canopy?

Canopy Adheasive {like RC 56} will soften if soaked with water. I use a wet rag for about an hour, then it peels off like RTV silicone.
