Default Balance point...

I balanced mine with a fingertip right behind the top rear cabane mount. Put your finger behind the cabane, with your finger just touching it and lift, it should go nose down just a bit. Mine flew (fly's; I sold it) great at that point. Snaps and spins were great, stall was just right.

The book actually states the balance point as being just behind the leading edge of the bottom wing, and that translates to just behind the cabane on the top.

Hope this helps, you'll love the plane. It is a keeper.

Jon

i had one of these and it was nose heavy by the book. Very nose heavy but i may have messed up. I dont know why they dont tell you were it balances in relation to the top wing. I thought it said a 1/4 or something IN FRONT OF THE LEADING EDGE OF THE BOTTOM WING. Anyway if your to nose heavy it will drop like a rock when you throtle back. Put some power back in and it will kind of harrier in with full elevator. Its not that scary or anything just remember to add some power if your nose heavy on test flight or it will wind up splaying the gear and possibley breaking some wood. After some tail weight she was an excellent flier and a real *****cat to land. Its been a while but i thought i was by the book when i balanced.

Thanks Tim
I have been flying mine consistantly with the CG 1/8 th inch ahead of the Leading edge of the lower wing, or on the back edge of landing gear. Flys great here.
