I have a CMP Katana-S140 . I need some advice on a battery for the servos and reciever. I will be using 5 Hitec HS-5645 Digital servos and a Futaba 6EX 2.4 transmitter. What battery should I use ? 4.8 or 6.0? Nicd or Nimh? How many milliamps? Thanks for you advice in advance.

The larger the capacity of the battery the better, within reason.
On planes of 1.20 and up to 1.80 I install packs of at LEAST 2000mAh.
On my Giant U-Can-Do, I've installed a 4200mAh pack.

Thats overkill (4200 on a 140 size) and not necessary at all.
I would run a good nicad of 1600-2500 mah. That should be good for 50 plus minutes easily.I would fly 3 flights and then recharge and note the amount topped up.Many guys use about 200 mah per 10 min. flight
I have many of that size plane and a 4.8 is ok
If you need your servos to work faster and need the extra power because you are a doing lots of wild manouvers, then go with a 5 cell 6 volt.
