What good RTF fan jets can i get? (CHEAP)
Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any good RTF ducted fan jets that can be bought and sent to the UK.
I have a small budget of £150 ($290 usd?) to spend on a good RTF jet.
I have a fair load of experience so i don't mind what type of handler it is.
Also if anyone can find an ALL included ARTF ducted fan jet for around that price then please do send the link!
My whole idea at first was to get a good RTF jet (foam) and then re work on it in balsa over time etc...
Hope it ain't any bother, thanks.

Don't know if you have it in the UK but the Phase 3 F16 is great machine. Comes with ducted fan, motor and esc for less than $150. Uses 3 cell battery. You can get it at HobbyPeople here in the states, maybe they ship to the UK also?

yeah thanks for the suggestion but i looked on a few other reviews and it seems to be a major problem with the engine, it burns out after the first 20 flights and the landings are very hard on them.
To be fair it does seem a bit to flimsy but what do you expect for a low price?
I must admit i do like this plane http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...ent=F-15_Eagle
and it may be out of my price range but its one of them hobby's you can build up on over time.

I'd stay away from the Synapse...
That "Aerocell" foam isn't worth the name given to it. It's just polyprop with heat applied during the final molding process.
However DO get a couple or three XPD-8's.
Tower has them on special for $29.00/ea.
I purchased a Synapse, destroyed it and placed the electronics in an XPD-8 frame...
It's a bit tough to get the launch proceedure right, but once you to it's a fun and fast Electric DF jet.
For $29.00 you can just transfer the electronics over to your backup if you crack it up, though most repairs can be made with WHITE glue which dries invisible.
You can purchase the XPD with the DF and purchase the motor seperately, get the same one used in the Synapse... I fly mine with a 1200mAh 20C battery pack, which results in about 5 minutes of high throttle flight.
