We are trying to find out how many RC folks run Gas/Glow engines in your area. Please go to the "engine conversion" forum if you do or know anyone that uses a Gas/Glow converted engines. Post there if you do. Thanks Capt,n

All glow at my club 4 and 2 stroke. The gas engines are on the expensive side for me. I might buy one for my next kit I build.

With the scarcity and price of glow fuel around here, I'm putting in GAS engines as much as I can...
Particularly because they cost me about the same as a good 2C engine!
$225.00 ( less with discount ) for a 26CC 2.8HP gas engine with electronic ignition and local support.

I save the any difference in price in the first few weeks of running it!

opjose, Here is a link to the forum. There has been a little trouble in getting all the data needed that may help understand this gas/glow engine imformation in one ...not to long thread. I am sure the forum will get better. It seems most RC people tend to help one another all they can. Best Regards Capt,n

Ok, this is new to me...
So you are taking Gas engines and converting them to Glow Power?
Why?
Given the cost of glow fuel, I would have thought that the opposite is more attractive.

The reason why is a good question alright. AV8TOR has dad very good luck with them. They are lite bcause of no external ignition is needed. Just a Glow plug to start them up. This is mainly done with engines from leaf blowers and chainsaws. They tend to give you more RPM I guess...I think because of some Nitro in the glow fuel that is mixed with gas. It takes some reading to get the idea. With me its a kinda a experimental thing...my main airplanes will be gas. Unless I get some real power with a pipe...but for now its just experimental. Capt,n

So this is analogous to running Nitro or Nitrous in a car engine.
Isn't the problem then that because the engine is not designed for this, you greatly reduce it's lifespan?
