RE: ARF Fuel Tanks.....
On even more than opjose mentioned, I usually use the included tanks but I also usually only get involved with the better brands.
It depends a lot on the brand - some brands always suply poor quality tanks, others occassionally have a dud included. I have had a Great Planes (Which I consider to be generally a good brand) ARF where the included tank had a pinhole in the seam.
Inspect the tank and see if it has a good seating area for the stopper, if there are any "thin" parts - especially on the corners (usually visible as a clear area ar as a very flexible area) and once it is assembled - check it for leaks.

RE: ARF Fuel Tanks.....
Here's a pic of the fuel tank from my Christen Eagle after one year... I'll be replacing most of my tanks this winter just to be safe. The fuel was Wildcat 10%.. nothing potent

RE: ARF Fuel Tanks.....
I have had a couple that needed some work before using. Specifically, the nylon pieces that compress the rubber stopper had the holes misalligned in relation to the holes in the rubber stopper. If used as provided, it disfigured the stopper enough to prevent a decent seal with the tank hole (not even close to sealing!). Since the plastic/nylon is difficult to file with a round file (takes forever!), I took my pointed tip soldering iron and elongated the holes in the plastic to allign them with those in the rubber stopper. Very quick, and allows the stopper to seal perfectly.

RE: ARF Fuel Tanks.....
the only ones i ever replaced were the tanks that came with the older thunder tiger arf's.the seams split very easily and the black rubber stopper seemed to be effected by glow fuel and leaked. these were the older tanks though. although i did replace the tank that came with phoenix models suhkoi. it was a small rectangle 6 ounce tank for that large tank compartment....i do not know what they were thinking with that deal.

RE: ARF Fuel Tanks.....
I use the tanks that come with the plane but i do flush them out with fresh fuel twice before putting them in the plane because you will get plastic shavings in your tanck which will go in to your engine.
Hope this helps
